Season 15: Rewritten

Sun, Nov 15

|

St. Mark Presbyterian Church

Our first experience in Season 15 reimagines tradition, tracing the line between where Choral Arts Initiative began and where we're headed, opening with CAI’s first ever commission, “I Am Music” by Dale Trumbore. This program honors where we've been while reaching toward what's next.

About the event

Join us for Rewritten, our Season 15 opener, where CAI's past and future meet in a single evening. Dale Trumbore's “I Am Music,” CAI's very first commissioned work, opens the program as a reminder of the artistic conviction this organization was founded on. Ethan Soledad's “A Thing That Wants Virginia” receives its world premiere, carrying that same spirit of discovery forward. Nina Shekhar's “Blush” makes its West Coast debut, bringing new color and texture to the program, and Christopher Cerrone's “Wind Phone, Goleta, CA,” scored for chorus and string quartet, closes the evening in its own West Coast premiere. These works, along with others, reimagine tradition -- honoring where we've been while reaching toward what's next. After the performance, join us for a Wine Reception for all of our supporters who have given $100 or more in the last year.
