Sacred Heart
Fall 2017
Choral Arts Initiative begins its season by exploring new territory: sacred repertoire. Known for illuminating secular repertoire, Artistic Director Brandon Elliott believes that there is wonderful new sacred music to be shared. Living composers across the country are writing beautiful music set to religious texts. The centerpiece of this program is the United States premiere of Alexander Levine's stunning four-movement work, Canti Augustini (Songs of St. Augustine). This program will also feature West Coast premieres by Matthew Lyon Hazzard, Anthony Iannaccone, Linda Kachelmeier, Hilary Tann, and Roderick Williams.
