SEASON 13
METAMORPHOSIS

Welcome to Season 13, a year dedicated to the theme of metamorphosis: transformation and renewal. Our meticulously curated programs feature a vibrant roster of living composers worldwide, where we explore profound journeys of change, growth, and rebirth, both individually and collectively.

We begin with From the Heart, where the theme of transformation is intricately woven through contemporary works by Samuel Siskind, Shara Nova, Lansing McLoskey, and more. This program reflects on the multifaceted nature of metamorphosis, from personal introspection to cultural and spiritual shifts, setting the stage for a season of deep contemplation and renewal.

As we move into Ascension, the theme continues with a focus on the sacred and transcendent. Works by Bora Yoon, Alexander Levine, Osnat Netzer, Roderick Williams, Kevin Hartnett, and James Keller delve into spiritual awakening and ascension, presenting a musical landscape that bridges the earthly and the divine. These compositions allow the listener to reflect on the power of faith and the human spirit’s capacity to find light and hope amidst darkness.

Our new offering of solo and chamber repertoire, Intimate Voices highlights the innovative works of composers Vivian Fung, Che Buford, Joe Jaxson, and Christopher Cerrone, performed by a smaller roster of Choral Artists. This intimate series offers a unique opportunity to discover new music and experience the profound impact of transformation on a personal scale.

In Transformation, we present a powerful exploration of exile, nature, and renewal. Gabriel Jackson’s “Exile Meditations” and Anne Dudley’s “One Touch of Nature” provide a poignant narrative of displacement and the search for home, paired with a celebration of the natural world’s ability to renew and sustain us. These works encapsulate the season’s overarching theme, showcasing the resilience and transformative power of the human spirit.

Season 13 promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking exploration of the human experience. Join us for a season of powerful music and profound reflection as we explore the many stages of transformation and renewal together.

You are the reason we sing. We look forward to seeing you there.
